Endpoint Devices in Networking

In this article I describe the endpoint devices in networking. In simple words an endpoint device in networking is any hardware which can access the network resources. The hardware may be server, computer, laptop, smartphone, scanner, printer etc.

The main purpose of networking is to share the resources available in the network. For example suppose you have a small network consisting 20 computers for office work. You don’t need to purchase a separate printer for each computer. You can use a single printer for all the devices connected with the network. Similarly you can use a single scanner and other devices with sharing with all computers of the network. To understand IOT it is necessary to understand the networking devices for CCNA.

In today scenario some devices supports to work on the internet. For example you have a internet connection in your office and at home too. You can use the devices of your office from your home over the internet. The technology changing day by day. In today scenario the SOHO concept running all over the world. SOHO stands for Small Office Home Office which allow to run a small business from home with online support. These all things depends on the latest technology working around us.

Nodes is the important term in networking devices for CCNA. The Nodes are the equipment which are connect with some networking devices. The Nodes may be servers, computer, printer, smartphone etc. Nodes are generally identify by network addresses or IP address.

In a network, devices able to exchange information with each other with the help of switch, router etc. The shared resources may be any application, videos, images, email, data storage, printers etc. Sharing of resources in a network done via flowing of network packets. Nodes are the computers, smartphones in networking basics for CCNA.

These endpoint devices are connected with the network to access the shared resources or internet. The configuration of endpoint devices in networking done by the network administrator. TCP/IP protocol generally used to provide connectivity to the endpoint devices. The IP address scheme provide the identification to the endpoint devices in a network.

Many types of devices used for connectivity of nodes in a network. Later we will discuss briefly about these networking devices. some example of these networking devices are hubs, switch, bridges, routers, modem etc. Computer or nodes commonly used Network interface card (NIC) for connectivity in a network.

An endpoint device in networking can communicate across the full network. The data storage and access is done by the endpoint devices in networking. Multiple web services provided by the endpoint devices like web servers, FTP servers etc. The security concern is most relevant with the endpoint devices in networking. All hacking attempts and other threats done on the endpoint devices. For security reason all the endpoint devices in networking used the authentication system at various layers.

Why management of Endpoint Devices are Important

we know the data stored and access are two basic functions done on any network. both process data store and data access are risky for data theft and hacking. mostly the computer virus attack on the data to manipulate it. so it is very important for a network administrator to provide perfect security to the endpoint devices in network.

When we access internet from our device, the data displaying on the web browser come from a so far web server. This process goes through many protocols and many networking devices. So there are many loop holes and foot print remain behind any online conversation. We use a lot of tricks to hide us from the hackers and other bad elements on the internet. You know the value of your data like credential of an email account or credential of your online transaction accounts like credit card and online banking. So it is very necessary to keep your endpoint device safe from any threat.
